Today is Asakusa Samba Carnival 's day. This year is the 27th since it started. Like all other festivals, the streets are full of people. The samba dances are joyful and colorful. But to get a good view, especially for taking picture, one needs to stake out a nice spot, well before it starts. I went to Asakusa at its starting time of 1:30PM. The only spot I could find was behind the human walls. I had to take photos over people's head. Somebody in front me took pictures with his arms spread widely apart, nicely blinding the only angle I had. The heat made it worse. I kept using my handkerchief to wipe sweats. Since I have the ticket to Gotenba at 3:30PM, I happily left the carnival within less than one hour.
