Dictionary of Fuzzy terms in Japanese

TeMaGaKaKaTTa RyoURi(手間の掛かった料理): A cuisince that has taken a lot of efforts and time. Usually, this is a positive evaluation of a dish. But, efforts and time do not automatically lead to delicious food, although generally it can be true, for professionals with the right mind. Hence, it is also a safe expression, when a guest is out of terms to appreciate a dish prepared by the host.

FuKuZaTsuNa AJi(複雑な味): Complicated taste. For complicated cases when the food prepared by the host hast too bad a taste, but it is too rude to speak out bluntly.

OKuFuKaI AJi(奥深い味):Profound taste. In fact, it can be a handy term for people to express the unpleasant feeling about a food, kindly prepared by the host.

HeNKaGaMiRaReRu(変化が見られる): This is used in a commercial about a diet product. "Changes have been identified after using this product for some time." With other visual effects, and the context, this can lead people to think that "positive changes" have been identified. But this expression can no doubt imply that neggative changes have been identified too.
