Asasyouryu has finally been granted to return back to Mongolia for treatment of his depression. This even clearly shows how the same thing is viewed differently by people of different position. In Japan, the opinions are split into approval and disapproval. But it is generally considered a great news back in Mongolia, and almost nobody thinks that Asasyouryu has any fault.
There are some killings among gangsters recently. It is said that there are about 80,000 gangsters in Japan now, as compared to the peak of 180,000. As many people pointed, the police in Japan should first extinguish gansters before spending their time on the road checking for stolen bycicles.
When I went to a bank in Shinjuku this afternoon, I was stopped by two plicemen. They were checking randomly people in the street to see whether anybody is carrying life threatening weapons. I carried a back pack and a small shoulder bag, looking more like a otaku than an engineer. But the funny thing is that one of the policeman told me that I should not carry the small swiss army knife set, with a blade of less than 4cm, and a width of about 0.5 cm. I can not even peel an apple comfortably with it! He said I might be arrested when it is judged that I may hurt people with it. Japan has really changed a lot recently. I can't imagine that the security check on the street is close to that in the airport, even comparable to the more strict regulations after 9/11.
