According to popular mechanics, Rotterdam club is to have a floor emmbeded with power generating mechanics driven by clubber's bumping and grinding. The tile needs parts running $100 to $200 per squre meter.
"The average nightclub, with sound systems pumping and lights blazing three times a week, consumes 150 times more energy than a four-person family every year, according to Enviu,...", why not simply shut them down? Or use candles instead (a few will be enough...), both romantic and eco friendly.
In fact, a more realistic version is to conver all existing excercise machines into generators. Why do we let the engergies people exserted at gym end up in heat, generated by frictions? The cost can be easily covered by eco advocate members.
