UA882 is the only "direct" flight, with one stop at Chicago. The flight nuber does not change, but the airplane changes, and one still needs to collect his/her bags at Chicago.
Custome and the waiting for bags, and the long queue for security checks took a total one hour. As a result, although the arrival time at O'hare is about 1:40pm and the boarding time for the connection is 3:35, I did not feel any comfortable about time.
The in flight meals from Narita to O'Hare are: dinner right after take off (I had beaf; the other choice was chicken), one light meal in between (with cup noodles!), and another before landing (I had omelet; the other choice was pasta). Flight attends always had grave lookings, no reponses to my thanks to their service, neither smile back when I smiled at them.
The lesson learned is that I should have printed out the address where I am going to stay. I have spent quite some time struggling with the automatic check-in machine at Narita. The staff there threated me that if I do not input an address, I may have big trouble at custom.
