Regarding the health care plan, proposed by Bill Clinton, there had been widely divided opinions. The proponents: groups representing consumers, families, workers, the elderly, children's hospitals and prediatricians etc. Opponents: business groups, particularly small business, pharmaceuticals and the insurance giants etc. Doctors also objected to specific elements of the plan. This is a typical example of how difficult it is for any political system to work. Any system is nothing but a platform for people to fight for their best interests. As is well known: politics is a science about who gets what and when.
