Minnesota Bridge

Reports shows the severity of the accident. Two reports published since 2001 have pointed out the "structural defects" of this bridge, with the structure being "deck steel truss". There are another 750 similar bridge in U.S.
This means people in U.S. have been driving over hundreds of time bombs, made by another terrorist: nature (including human being). Nobody knows for sure when and which will go off next, because regardless the examination of the "experts", no precise conclusions has been produced. Even if there are any conclusions that should have caused enough attensions of related organization, there are still many other factors (such as budget, negligence, ignorance etc.) that prevent any proper actions from being taken.
Many other products or man made structures also have potential danger to human beings. Whoever becomes the victim of any type of defects, not only the pain or loss will be sudden and shocking, but also the after effect destructive. It will take many years before related people get recovered, and get compensated, even in insignificant ways. Especially for the later, people who are supposed to be in charge of management of the defected products or structures who started to blame others and justify their own innocence.
HIV-tainted blood scandal (薬害エイズ事件) has been one of the worst things ever happened to Japanese. It took many years before the victims get compensations, with many passed away well before the government even started to admit their misconducts. Even if one buys insurance, the insurance companies wisely exclude these kinds of "unexpected or uncontrollable" situations.
One needs to stop escaping from his or her own responsibilities and should try to do the best for whatever he or she is supposed to do. This is for his or her own goods. Whatever bad results caused by somebody's negligence or fraud will come back to the same person in one way or another someday.
